We are parents!!!!

Me and Ry are officially parents!! of a new "puppy" dog that is! Saturday, me and Ry went to petsmart (just to look) at the dogs that were outside waiting to be adopted! We saw alot of cute dogs..big and small...but there was one that stood out just a bit! SHILOH a beautfiul lab/plott hound mix! She was in a cage with another doggie and she was so sweet..everytime a dog would walk up to Petsmart..all the other dogs would bark..except her..she would look at them like "yea..another dog..whats new?" she was precious! One thing I noticed about her was when she was laying down..she crossed one paw over the other..very ladylike..we petted her for a while and after many kisses from her..we talked to the people at the agency..and they told us all about her...she lived with a few foster families..and recently had surgery on her back leg...(she tore her doggie acl) shes all better now and as sweet as can be! She is 6 years old, potty trained and house trained! The ladies let us walk her around Petsmart for a while and then we went in to fill out an application! They called our references and approved us for doggie adoption! Her foster mother was there and she told us all about her..like what kind of food she eats, what kind of toys and treats she likes and answered all our questions about her! They lady took my email and she is going to email us pics that she has of shiloh while she fostered her! They were all sad to see her go but so excited she was going to a nice home...and everyone knows that she will be spoiled with us! We decided to keep the name Shiloh because she already knows it..she is very smart, and knows how to sit, lay down, "treat" and "outside." She is a perfect first dog for me and Ry and we already love her so much!!

So far she has been sooooo good..she ate all her food..and she eats it when she wants..she dosen't snarf it down like some dogs I know (:-) She slept through the whole night..I think me and Ry woke her up..she could have kept sleeping..So far no accidents in the house..she has pottied outside everytime..she even gave me a little cry when she wanted out today! It was raining today so we couldn't play outside or go for a walk but as soon as it gets nice out we will! Me and Ry just gave her a bath and she did SOOOOO GOOOOD!! She got scared when we called her in the bathroom but once she was in the tub..she was fine..didn't shake or try to escape..I think it helped that Ry got in the tub with her! She did such a good job though and she smells sooo good now..and we gave her treats for being so good!

We have had her a little over 24 hours now and I have already learned so much about her!

She really seems to be such an easy going sweet doggie...The true test will be tomorrow when we leave her alone...I will be home for lunch break and ry gets home before me so she will only be alone for 6 hours or so..*fingers crossed*
